    Mark Berman, Partner at Ganfer Shore Leeds & Zauderer LLP

    Mark is in the firm’s Commercial Litigation practice group as well as in its other litigation practice groups. He co-heads the firm’s Complex Title Insurance Litigation practice. Mr. Berman is a member of the firm’s Cooperative and Condominium Housing Practice Group.

    He has extensive experience in representing private and public companies, as well as partnerships and individuals, as plaintiffs and defendants, in complex commercial matters with an emphasis on real estate disputes, electronic discovery conflicts, and complex title insurance issues.

    Since 2005, Mr. Berman has authored a column in The New York Law Journal addressing electronic discovery under New York State law. Mr. Berman’s articles have been quoted in both appellate and trial court decisions.

    Mr. Berman is rated “AV” by Martindale-Hubbell, the highest level in professional excellence and ethics, and has been selected as a “New York Super Lawyer” annually since 2008.

    Anita Castora, CRM, FAI, IGP

    Anita is a Senior Records Management Analyst at Jabil, Inc., in St. Petersburg, FL.  Anita has over 20 years’ experience working in all facets of records management; developing and implementing policies, training, retention schedules, and auditing.

    She has been an active board member for multiple ARMA chapters during her career, and is the immediate past president of the Jacksonville Chapter, which had been dormant. Anita is a Chapter Advisors for the Southeast Region Board of ARMA International. She has received many awards and accolades from ARMA, ACEDS and other organizations. Anita was part of the teams for the Metro New York and Akron/Canton Chapters when they won Chapter of the Year.  She is a Certified Records Manager (CRM), Information Governance Professional (IGP), and a Certified Business Continuity Professional (CBCP). She was recently inducted into the Company of Fellows.  Anita is currently a member of the Gulf Coast Chapter.


    James Dawson, CSSLP, IGP

    James F. Dawson, Director of Information Governance, Lifecycle and Enterprise Data Strategy. Mr. Dawson is recognized as a subject matter expert (SME) and frequent speaker/lecturer on Information Governance, Risk Responsibility Design, Data Risk Governance, Risk Control, Compliance Readiness, Records & Information Management, Privacy, Cyber Security, Effective Enterprise Change and related fields. He has successfully lead and managed data risk evaluations in global, multicultural and matrixed corporate environments. He has developed and implemented enterprise risk and information governance frameworks and has served corporate counsel with solutions for complicated critical data processes, data preservation, identification, collection, and data use in risk mitigation challenges related to corporate compliance in information lifecycle. James has designed complicated inter-country data risk controls for global organization and is an expert in Critical Data Process Value Management.


    Melissa G. Dederer, CRM, FAI, IGP

    Melissa has 30 years of experience in the information management and governance profession. She is a recognized thought leader with in-depth knowledge and expertise in translating complex processes into clear, understandable and actionable steps, developing clear and concise documentation, and is known for using process improvements, enabling technologies, project management, and training strengths to meet commitments with integrity.

    Melissa has been active in ARMA International for over 20 years, at the chapter, region and international levels, including serving four years as a Director on ARMA International’s Board of Directors.  She is now serving as Secretary on the Board of the Connecticut chapter and directing the planning of their all-day spring conference.

    Mark Diamond, President & CEO, Contoural

    Mark is recognized as an industry thought leader in proactive records and information management, litigation readiness and risk & compliance strategies.  He and his company help bridge legal, compliance, security and business needs and policies with effective processes, technology and change management.

    Previously, he was co-founder of Symantec's (Open Vision) Professional Services group; founder and General Manager, Worldwide Professional Services for Legato Systems and Vice President of Worldwide Professional Services at Right Works, a provider of business application software to the B2B marketplace.

    Mark served as Chair of the Storage Networking Industry Association customer advisory board on data security.  Mark sits on the board of advisors for several high technology companies. He is an online columnist for Inside Counsel Magazine, as well as an author of numerous white papers for both the legal and IT communities. He is a regular speaker at the Association for Corporate Counsel Annual Meeting and at numerous legal and IT industry conferences.

    Mark holds a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from the University of California, San Diego.


    Glenn Fischer, Associate Director of Risk Management, Kirkland & Ellis LLP

    Glenn Fischer is a strategic leader with over 20 years of experience in the legal industry. He’s responsible for providing direction to attorneys and staff on all aspects of the firm’s Information Governance efforts including the Records Management program; ethical and legal compliance requirements related to information; the preservation or destruction of information; the confidentiality, privacy and security of information and the mobility of information.

    Glenn communicates program requirements and goals to firm personnel through education, coaching and change management strategies that increase user adoption and compliance. He applies technical knowledge of various internal and external databases to assist with data analysis, data manipulation and statistical reporting. His strengths include building successful and cohesive teams with relationship building skills that ensure high performance.


    Gail Gottehrer, Co-Chair of the Privacy, Cybersecurity and Emerging Technologies team at Akerman LLP. 

    Her practice focuses on technology-related litigation and counseling, including autonomous vehicle regulation, data privacy, and cybersecurity.  She is one of the few defense lawyers to have been involved in the trial of a class action to verdict before a jury. 

    Gail is a frequent speaker on the implications of technology for the law and business operations, including data ownership and privacy, autonomous and connected vehicles, biometrics, the Internet of Things, the GDPR, eDiscovery and electronic evidence, robotics, smart cities, and wearable technology. She teaches Law for Knowledge Innovation and Practices at Columbia University and is a Fellow at the Center for Legal Innovation at Vermont Law School. 

    Gail was appointed as a Co-Chair of the State of Connecticut’s Task Force to Study Fully Autonomous Vehicles, the New York State Bar Association’s Transportation Committee, Law360’s Transportation Editorial Advisory Board, and the New York State Bar Association's Technology and the Legal Profession Committee. 

    Gail is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania Law School and a former Law Clerk to the Honorable Murray C. Goldman, Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Court of Common Pleas, Philadelphia County, and is admitted to practice in New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Connecticut.


    Ron Hedges, JD, former Magistrate Judge, Senior Counsel Dentons' Litigation and Dispute Resolution Practice Group

    He has extensive experience in e-discovery and in the management of complex litigation and has served as a special master, arbitrator and mediator. He also consults on management and discovery of electronically stored information (“ESI”).

    He was a US Magistrate Judge from 1986 to 2007 and is the principal author of the third edition of the Federal Judicial Center’s Pocket Guide for Judges on Discovery of Electronic Information, available under “publications” at the FJC website. He graduated from the University of Maryland in 1974 and from Georgetown University Law Center in 1977.


    Leigh Isaacs, Director, Information Governance & Records, Proskauer Rose

    Leigh is an indispensable collaborator and advisor with both client and law firm partners and teams in the strategic development and implementation of records and information governance programs. With over fifteen years of experience in records and information governance and over 30 years of experience in the legal space, Leigh has a proven record of understanding business processes, identifying opportunities for improvements and creating efficiencies by recommending customized solutions for workflow processes. Leigh understands the critical need for clear and effective communication and bridges the communications gap among law firm and client stakeholders. Believing that a successful records and information governance program requires minimal disruption to the business, Leigh applies a practical strategy to policy and program development.


    Richard Hogg, GDPR Evangelist, IBM

    Richard has 15+ years global experience across ECM, eDiscovery, Analytics and #infogov.

    He spent last few years working with heavily-regulated clients worldwide on their GDPR journey and is responsible for the cross-IBM GDPR capabilities, services and solutions. He is also part of IBM’s Internal GDPR Readiness Program. 

    Richard is a frequent speaker annually on GDPR & InfoGov across AIIM, ARMA, MER, LegalTech, Insight, World of Watson, InfoGovCon, IAPP and IPBA.


    John Isaza, Esq, FAI, heads the Information Governance & Records Management Practice at Rimon

    John is internationally recognized in the emerging legal field of information governance, as well as records and information management (RIM). He is one of the country’s foremost experts on RIM issues, electronic discovery, and legal holds. He has developed information governance and records retention programs for some of the most highly regulated Fortune 100 companies, including related regulatory research opinions. His clients range from the Fortune 100 to startups.

    Mr. Isaza is also an expert in social media law. He is the current chair of the ABA’s Social Media Law Subcommittee of the Business Law Section of the American Bar Association. In this capacity he is a contributing author and Editor in Chief of the upcoming book, A Handbook on Global Social Media Law for the Business Lawyer, to be published the ABA. Mr. Isaza is a frequent lecturer on the issue, and he advises clients on the difficult issues in navigating a social media presence.


    Prashanth Mekala, Supervisory Special Agent, FBI in the New York Field Office of the FBI for over 12 years.

    He spent the first eight years of his career working on complex counterintelligence and espionage cases.  From 2012 to 2014 he worked in FBI Headquarters as a Program Manager in the Counterintelligence Division - Economic Espionage Unit and the Cyber Division - Middle East/Africa Unit.

    SSA Mekala currently works in the FBI’s New York Field Office and manages an 18-person team focused on state-sponsored cyber actors and technically-trained individuals aligned with international terrorist groups. 

    He has a Bachelors degree from Carnegie Mellon in Chemical Engineering, specializing in Biomedical Engineering.  He graduated from Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs (SIPA) with a Masters Degree in Policy and Administration, specializing in International Economic Policy Management. SSA Mekala graduated with distinction from Carnegie Mellon with a Masters Degree in Information Technology, specializing in Information Security and Assurance.


    William Saffady, FAI, author and Records Management Consultant.

    Bill is an experienced records management and information governance consultant and researcher based in New York City.   He is the author of over three dozen books and many articles on records management, record retention, document storage and retrieval technologies, and other information management topics. His latest book, Record Retention Requirements: A Guide to 100 Commonly-Encountered Record Series, is published by ARMA International. Since 1976,

    Dr. Saffady has served as an information management consultant, providing analytical services and training, to corporations, government agencies, not-for-profit entities, cultural institutions, and other organizations.

    Mary Sherwin, CIPP/US, CRM, IGP, Director, Records Management, CBS Corporate Law Department

    Mary is a senior information management executive and privacy professional with over thirty years of experience. She is a leader in records and information management strategies, and has extensive experience in records and information management, information technology and information privacy. Mary’s experience extends into all phases of the systems development lifecycle, including project management, analysis, development and implementation on a wide variety of technical platforms.

    Prior to joining CBS, Mary worked for the United Nations Peacekeeping Mission in Sudan, the UN Headquarters and the International Atomic Energy Agency in Vienna, Austria in various information technology, project management and records management positions.

    Mary is also a highly rated speaker, who has spoken at both the ARMA International and Chapter levels. She is multi-lingual, speaking English, French, German, Spanish and Chinese.

    Mary currently is honored to serve as the President of the ARMA Metro NYC Chapter.

    Mary is a Certified Records Manager (CRM), a Certified Information Governance Professional (IGP) and holds the Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP/US) accreditation from the International Association of Privacy Professionals.


    Jason C. Stearns, CIPP/US, CRM, IGP, Director, is a member of the Legal and Compliance Group at BlackRock. He is responsible for the global implementation of Information Governance standards and requirements.

    Prior to BlackRock, Mr. Stearns worked at UBS as Director and Portfolio Manager, Group Information Governance where he was responsible for Information Governance strategy development, project management, and oversight. Prior to that, he was the Corporate Records Manager for New York Life Insurance Company.

    Mr. Stearns earned an MS in Applied Information Management from the University of Oregon and BA from Binghamton University. He is also a certified Information Governance Professional (ARMA International), Certified Information Privacy Professional – US (IAPP) and a Certified Records Manager (ICRM).

    Mr. Stearns serves as a Director on the ARMA International Board and previously served as chair of the IGP board of directors.


    Brian Tuemmler, Information Governance Program Architect at Nuix

    Brian joined Nuix in 2013 as Information Governance Program Architect helping IG practitioners and sponsors set up and manage enterprise governance programs through methodology, training, tools and software.

    Since 1991, Brian has advised clients in the areas of strategic and information planning projects with an emphasis on new technologies, classifying content, and identifying the benefits of process improvement and technology enhancement.  He is Product Manager for Nuix’s Information Governance tools and his responsibilities include helping Information Governance practitioners and sponsors set up and manage enterprise governance and cleanup programs through methodology, training, tools and software.

    Brian has more than 20 years’ experience in the industry including speaking engagements and published articles for ARMA, AIIM and MER.
